Company Overview

Started in 2005 in Ontario, California, Sill-Rite produces vinyl interior window sills for the building industry. Karl Hatrak, President and founder, invented the Sill‑Rite sill as a waterproof product to replace drywall and MDF sills. "Drywall was never intended to be used as a finished sill," says Karl. "MDF is even worse at protecting the sill area and underlying wall from moisture resulting from window condensation and leaks.

Each piece of Product manufactured is made of tough, high-performance materials that resist splintering, decaying, insect infestation, water penetration, and absorption for long-lasting beauty and performance.

Sill-Rite™ Adds New Standard Sills to Product Line

Low Maintenance Vinyl Window Sills for the Home

ONTARIO, CALIF. – Sill‑Rite™, manufacturers of the original vinyl Premium Sills, has introduced new Standard Sills to the marketplace. Made of cellular PVC, Standard Sills can be used by building professionals for new construction, retrofit and replacement situations in residential and commercial projects.

“Builders and remodelers looking for a fast, economical way to protect windows and walls in the home will like the new Standard Sills,” says Karl Hatrak, president of Sill‑Rite. “Available in Classic and Streamline profiles, the Standard Sills come in a variety of sill depths and lengths, and start at under $14 for sills ordered on-line at www.sill‑rite.com.”

The durable Standard Sills will not rot, cup, split, twist or warp like wood window sills, and come with a limited lifetime warranty.

“We added Standard Sills to our product line for individuals looking for a way to add a waterproof barrier that protects the sill area of the window,” says Karl Hatrak, president of Sill‑Rite. “Builders and remodelers know that moisture is a home’s number one enemy. If moisture gets between the walls and the window sill area, it can cause the growth of mold and mildew. When installed properly, Sill‑Rite sills help prevent moisture from seeping into the inner wall so that moisture problems are eliminated.”

The Sill‑Rite Standard Sills join the Sill‑Rite Premium Sills as another alternative for stylish sill protection systems in the home. The Premium Sills feature profiles on the front and ends that wrap around the sides of the window instead of being butt cut.

Sill‑Rite window sills are completely prefabricated and finished, making them easy for building industry professionals to install. The solid PVC Sill‑Rite sill resists water, mold, stains and warping. Each sill is pre-finished and requires no priming or painting. Sills do not require painting but will accept paint so that homeowners may create custom color looks for their sills.

“Sill‑Rite window sills are pre-finished and sized for standard window openings,” says Hatrak. “The solid cellular PVC sills are cost-effective, install quickly and resist everything from insects to rot to water. Even better, the Sill‑Rite surfaces are attractive, easy to clean and require very little maintenance.”

Available in stock lengths to make it easier for installers to cut and fit the sill to the window opening, Standard Sills are easy for job-site use. Completely waterproof and made of non-organic materials, Sill‑Rite window sills are available nationwide via the company’s web site (www.sill‑rite.com)and at select Home Depot locations. The site offers downloadable installation instructions, cross-section drawings and product information sheets. The site also includes an installation video, section on frequently asked questions, care and cleaning information, the latest company news and a photo gallery. Pre-finished Low Maintenance Vinyl Window Sills

ONTARIO, CALIF. – Sill‑Rite™ has enhanced its line of solid vinyl window sills by adding a variety of new depths to its product offerings. The prefabricated and finished sills are now available in two, three-, four- five-, six-, seven-, and eight--inch depths, giving contractors greater options for using Sill-Rite sills on both new construction and remodeling projects.

Sill‑Rite interior sills help protect the window sill area from damage caused by moisture, condensation and leaks. The low-maintenance Sill-Rite PVC sill resists water, mold, stains and warping. Each sill is pre-finished on all exposed edges and requires no priming or painting. The white sills (which attractively wrap around the sides of the window instead of being butt cut) can be painted and are available in two profiles: Classic, for an elegant traditional style, and Streamline, for a contemporary style.

"Initial reaction to the product introduction in 2006 was very strong," according to Karl Hatrak, president of Sill‑Rite. "Building industry professionals have requested that we make the sills available in a wider variety of depths for use in more of their jobs. We’re pleased to answer their requests with five new sill depth offerings in both our Classic and Streamline sill styles."

Available to builders and remodelers through their favorite building products dealer or supplier, Sill-Rite sills are completely prefabricated and finished, allowing building industry professionals to save time and labor on the job site. A new unlimited lifetime warranty and the ability to order custom lengths of sills are two additional strengths to the product line.

"This is a product that is environmentally friendly," says Hatrak. "Whereas both drywall and MDF can easily be damaged by moisture and breed mold when used as window sill material, Sill‑Rite vinyl does not have those problems. The solid cellular PVC sills resist everything from insects to rot to moisture, install quickly and are cost-effective. Most importantly, the Sill‑Rite surfaces are attractive, easy to clean and require very little maintenance.

"Between the overall attractiveness of the sills, the installation time saved and the durability of the product, builders and remodelers have discovered that Sill‑Rite sills are a smart investment for their projects."

Completely waterproof and made of non-organic materials, Sill‑Rite window sills are available nationwide through dealers and suppliers. "Both drywall and MDF can be easily damaged by moisture when used as window sill material," says Karl Hatrak, president of Sill‑Rite. "Worse than that, these materials can breed mold. They’re simply not the best choice for a window sill material. Other choices, such as marble or solid surface sills, are extremely costly in terms of materials and labor.

"Sill‑Rite window sills are pre-finished and sized for standard window openings. The solid cellular PVC sills are cost-effective, install quickly and resist everything from insects to rot to water. Even better, the Sill-Rite surfaces are attractive, easy to clean and require very little maintenance."

Backed by a 25-year limited warranty, Sill‑Rite window sills are individually prefabricated to fit typical window openings. Sills are available in two depths (five and seven inches) to fit 2x4 and 2x6 constructed walls. The low maintenance window sills can be installed during or after drywall installation.

"Typically, the window area receives heavy wear and tear during the course of construction," says Hatrak. "The sill area generally needs extensive repair at the end of a project. With the Sill-Rite sills builders and remodelers save time and worry. There’s no need to repair a damaged sill, just install a new Sill‑Rite sill at the final stage of construction and you’re set.

"Callbacks are virtually non-existent with this product versus drywall, MDF or wood sills. Between the overall attractiveness of the sills, the installation time saved and the durability of the product, builders and remodelers will discover that Sill‑Rite sills are an investment in their homes."
